As Doonbeg prepares to welcome visitors for this year’s Amgen Irish Open, a new audio experience will invite people to discover the village in a different way: on foot, at their own pace and through the stories of the people who know it best.
Supported by Amgen, the free Audio Heritage Trail builds on the community-led Doonbeg Heritage Trail, which features 29 points of interest across the village and surrounding area. Using their smartphones, residents and visitors will be able to listen to local history, folklore and memories as they move from one landmark to the next.
The trail was created to celebrate the places and stories that have shaped Doonbeg through generations. The new audio format makes that experience available to more people, creating a lively and accessible way to explore the village while spending time outdoors.
